I have a question about proof of funds..

At what point do you have to show specific proof of funds? (I know this will be in the form of a bank statement from the past 6 months etc) but at what point do you have to upload this? I know it asks about how much money you have when you create an express entry profile.

As far as I was aware you do NOT have to provide a bank statement UNTIL you receive an ITA..

Reason I ask this is because we are currently saving/selling assets to get the required funds however this will not be complete for another couple of months but we want to get in the pool now because obviously there is no guarantee when you will get an ITA or if you will even get one...

My confusion is due to the following statement as per CIC website under proof of funds tab -

You must show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family in Canada to meet the minimum requirements of

the Federal Skilled Worker Program or
the Federal Skilled Trades Program

You won’t be accepted in the pool under one of these programs unless you can prove you have this money. The amount of money you need to support your family is set by the size of your family.

to me this is showing you must show proof of funds BEFORE you are even accepted in the pool??

Can someone who has already been through this process please advise.

Thanks

when you apply you just add the minimum for yourself and dependants. when you get the ITA you'll be asked to provide proof then.
