Hello,
I have received an ITA. For the last year I have been keeping the majority of my income with my sister in Whales, to protect it from the falling South African rand. Now I need it to show proof of funds. What is the best way to show/explain this, without making the officer suspicious that the money was never mine to begin with, but is rather a temporary loan from my sister?

Thanks!

You can get a gift deed signed from your sister which says that "a certain amount" money is a gift to you and need not be returned back to her. Get this letter on a stamp/bond paper and get it notarized. Get this money transferred in your bank account and your bank statement should show this transaction. This should be sufficient.

As sushsmart15 has mentioned, show the amount from sister as a gift by executing a Gift Deed. Since majority of the POF is being shown as a Gift Deed, sometimes you might also be be asked to show bank statements which would show salary credits, so it would be advisable to submit those as well (to be on the safer side).

For Gift Deed, you can check this link http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/gift-money-declaration-from-father-to-son-outline-t347593.0.html

i would suggest a written contract between you and your sister about your money.

Gift deed will suffice, not sure, why are you mentioning a contract?
