what if my proof of funds is my dads name and mine. Can I still leave my account in the u.s or do I have to cash in my funds and deposit it into an account in canada. I would prefer to leave the money in my account in the states.
I guess both because it has been like that for awhile and i did not want to close out my account. I have my dad on my account in case something happens to me. Can i just show proof like the bank statement or notoraized letter?

When landed in Canada, you may be asked to show the proof of funds, so the Bank Statement, a letter from the bank showing your account Balanace would be fine, you don't need to close your account, but you do need to show the available funds if asked.
