Dear all,

I am the principal applicant with two dependents. I paid processing fees $1,250.00 with my application. As per CIC website I have to show a fund of $16,225.00 for 3 members family. On the otherhand, I have to pay various govt.fees and expenses for landing to Canada if qualify. Now I can not imagine how much fund I shall require to settle in Canada. If anybody could give me some light on this then it will be very helpful for me to calculate my expenditure and necessary arrangement.

Awaiting your response,pls.

Thanks and regards.

For 3 members you need to show that you have in your savings account or fixed deposits or other forms of investment to the tune of CAD 16,225.00, which can be encashed just before you make your first trip as an immigrant on PR visa. This you can bring with you either as cah or Bankers draft payable at par in any Canadian city or their reciprocal bank in Canada. This is not a fees. It is the amount CIC expects you to have when you land to take care of your members for some time till you start earning as a PR.
The fees you have paid is called the processing fees to process your application. Once CIC approves your case then you will have to pay another fees @ CAD 490/- for you and same amount for your spouse. dependent children do not have to pay this.

Hello,

My case is like that as i applied long back(2005) and i got the file number then they asked for update and i did so in that time my family was two members only now as i just send my final update less than a month and my wife delivered a baby , i found that i need to send them and updated IMM008 form which include the funds

my questions is in the last update before the baby the fund which i mentioned and proofed was enough for two family members , do they expecting in adding the child to update the fund and send them bank statement showing the same or no need in that stage ???????Regards,

Yes, The application and the conditions to meet the approval need to be upto date. So you will have to show it. If you have not done along with your updated IMM0008, they will ask you and at that time you can give the proof of funds

Javid,

It depends.

The London Visa Office (LVO) accepts such valuations.

I cannot say same for your Visa Office if it is not London. They most likely will not.

Thanks Russ, I'll have to go through the Trinidad & Tobago Visa Office. I'm from Guyana (South America).

I believe it all depends on the real estate market. If it is 'hot' (say San Francisco), then it makes perfect sense to accept it as POF coz someone will snap it in a minute if one puts up a house/apartment for sale.

I suggest you send them a mail to be sure.

Keep up posted!
