Proof of Funds - UK - Santander

Hi all,

I've read other threads about proof of funds, and have a pretty good understanding of the format required.

When I called my bank (Santander in the UK), they said can provide a Bankers Statement with information such as when the account was opened, the current balance etc, but they're unable to provide the average balance for the past six months.

I'm wondering if anyone has been able to obtain proof of funds from Santander and, if so, what you included. Or, if anyone has had a problem with other banks, what did you do to meet the requirements?

Thanks in advance,
Charlie

Actually, banks should be able to provide it. Not sure why your bank can't. I just told my bank about the Visa requirements and push them to provide average balance for the last 6 months.

I'd love to change my bank, but considering I need to have the balance for 6 months and received my ITA 30 days ago, I suspect that's not an option :p

My plan is to go directly to the branch and see if they can sort it out. I don't understand how it could be so difficult to write a letter.

I printed letter requirements from CIC website, went to a branch, spoke to Miguel explaining the situation and he said "No problem, it will be ready for tomorrow". He called me the next day to let me know it is ready.
The letter started with "Dear to whom it may concern" hahaha, but it was accepted by CIC anyway.
So it's all about speaking to the right person. If one person is not willing to help you speak to somebody else.

If they don't state average balance in the letter, print out your statements for the past six months and have your branch stamp on those.

Hey,

I went to my bank today. I told the guy that I had spoken to the call centre and they said to go to the branch. He grumbled a bit but wrote my a letter then and there with all of the details so it all worked out.

Thanks,
Charlie
