Dear friends

I have a query related to proof of funds to be shown at the time of landing. Me and my wife are applying for PR. I am primary applicant. If I land first in Canada and my wife follows me after 2-3 months (well within expiry of COPR), Will it be OK ?

Secondly, when I land first and show proof of funds (bank statements of my account and copy of FD's) and go through, will it acceptable that my wife also shows the same statements and copy of FD's when she arrives 2-3 months later. I am asking this because me and wife are jointly showing the money for PR. But I will land first and my wife will follow me later. In that case, how to divide money to be shown at port of entry in Canada at two separate instances (my arrival and my wife's arrival).

Please guide

Regards

The PA and dependents can land separately with the only proviso that the PA lands first. As for POF, it is required only and completely from the PA so you will have to showcase the entire POF required in your case when you land so you cannot 'divide' the money to showcase separately on your travel and your wife's travel - you'll be required to showcase ALL of it if and when required. Dependents wouldn't normally be asked for POF when they land separately because that formality has already been covered with the PA. No harm if your spouse carries those documents when they arrive in Canada but it won't be necessary.
