Proof of Funds Sufficiency

I am a U.S. citizen who is going to attempt to apply at the POE at the Coutts-Sweetgrass Border. I have compiled all of the documents that are shown to be required according to everything I have read, but I am feeling iffy about my proof of funds. I have provided employment letters from my sponsors, bank statements for both my sponsors as well as myself for the past four months, and tax reports from both of my sponsors. I have read here that I am supposed to show proof that I have had the funds required in my account or in the accounts of my sponsors for the previous 3 months, but I don't fit that currently. My tuition for the first year, plus my living fees, amounts to 32000 CAD, and the totals of all accounts I have available to me is about 26000 CAD, so I currently have the living fees as well as the tuition fees for the first term, but not the full total I'm supposed to have. I can prove employment of both of my sponsors as well as letters from them confirming their sponsorship to show that the remainder of the money required can easily be earned over the year, but the majority of the money being used for my fees is invested in stocks rather than in a bank account. Am I able to provide proof of stocks and their current value? That would provide significantly more than is required to cover my fees, so I feel even with the volatile nature it should be sufficient, right?

Hi

There are many ways to show proof of fund. Showing money in your bank account and in your sponsors' account will be easier. If your sponsors are your parents or close relatives that would be easier, but I think you need to provide affidavit from your sponsors that they are going to give you the money, please also elaborate your financial plan, like who and how you are going to get the fund and in specific amount.

If you are going to show that your sponsors will support you from their salary, then you may need employment statement along with affidavit to support your claim.

Alright, by my parents' divorce order, my father is obligated to pay for my college expenses. If I bring in the divorce documents to prove this, should I still get an affidavit from him?

So the affidavit is definitely still necessary? I would feel a court order from his divorce would be more binding and definitely sufficient, no? Is it ok for him to make an affidavit and have it notarized and then scan it and send it to me, or must it be the original that I present? He lives in the U.S. currently and I am already in Canada, so the original would require mailing. The court order specifically states how international fees are to be handled, so that's not an issue.

Pre-Assessed..
No.

Just think : if he DOES not pay what you could do? On the other hand if he signs affidavit- it will be enough for CIC.

Are you applying online ? Then everything is a scan, isn't it?

If you are applying by mail- then it should be an original.
