I have applied for express entry and have declared that I am married and also that my spouse would not be accompanying me and . I have been awarded points for only myself as I did not include my spouse in the application . In this case, can I show the spouse's bank statement in addition to mine for proof of funds? Would the spouse's bank statement be accepted?

I do not think non accompanying spouse statement of account will be accepted. I think its only if your spouse is accompanying you it can be accepted

No, it has to be yours. Can you add your name on to her account and make it joint? Then that will be ok.

However the entire point is that you do take that money to get set up so you don't claim money from Canada. Also, why isnt your wife going with you? Why do so many people get married only to declare they are moving to another country try without them.

Is the account joint ?

If yes you can claim 50% of the funds.

If not, with a non accompanying spouse - you cannot use her statements.

Better idea is to ask her to give you a gift of some amount ( figure to be advised by an accountant).

My funds are in a joint account with my accompanying spouse - I can use 100% of these I assume as he is coming with me?
