Hello All,

I'm writing to ask whether I need to submit the Bank Statement or my one month old Fixed Deposit Account should suffice. My father and I were saving up for my Immigration and he has recently sold off one our family properties and has given/gifted the money over to me for a start in Canada. The cash is mine and is in a Fixed Deposit Account which is under my name. I want to know whether a one or two month old fixed deposit account would be accepted as Proof of Funds as I do not keep much cash in my current account because of security reasons.

Please help me out! :-X

Best Regards

P.S: I plan to apply by the first week of August.

Fixed term deposits are accept, but they will probably want at least 3 months statements (6 is better), so if the account is less than 6 months old they will want to know the source of the opening funds.

Therefore I would strongly advise that you include an affidavit from your father stating that this money was a gift and that it does not have to be repaid.

Their main concern is that this money genuinely belongs to you and has not been borrowed, so I would send them as much evidence as you are able to that this is the case.

Best of luck,
Wayne.

Immigrant needs to carry the required sum at the time of first time landing for PR purposes. Form could be any like Cash, DD or Traveller's cheque.

Lesser amount will result in return flight from airport back to homeland ;D

At point of entry when you complete your record of landing, you must be able to show the officer at least the minimum required funds, if asked (they do not always ask, but they can do). You do not have to physically carry this in cash - can be traveller's cheques, bank statements etc (although reportedly some people have had problems with bank statements but others have been fine). The currency must be either in Canadian dollars or an easily convertable currency such as USD, UK Sterling or Euro.

But you cannot spend the money prior to landing. Also, the visa office can ask to see additional funding proof at any point in the application, so it is highly advisable to keep the full minimum required funds for the entirity of your application.

After you have completed your record of landing you may spend your settlement funds as you wish.

Wow Thanks Wayne you've made my life easier!!! Can you help me with one more thing please?!
Id be highly appreciative if you go through my case.

I am a marketer. My Job Description fits in the category of 0611 Sales, Marketing and Advertising Managers Perfectly according to NOC website. This is also Classified Elsewhere under 5124 Professional Occupations in Public Relations and Communications which shows that it is also classified under Advertising specialists (in 1122 Professional Occupations in Business Services to Management).

I want to know whether I am eligible to apply under 1122 as my Job Description is just close to Advertising Specialists under 1122 and is also coming under 1122's separate classification.

Thanks!

I regrettably am just an applicant and no expert on NOC descriptions, particularly since I have never worked in any of the NOCs you mention.

Perhaps someone who has already applied under the NOCs you mention can advise?

Hi,

CHC has requested for 12 month bank statement. Problem is that during my application, I borrowed from my parents in India. My finances in India are managed by them under their account.

After applying, I have immediately withdrawn the funds and passed it to my parents when they were here.

My 12 month bank statement is not in good shape when it comes to liquidity. However both me and my wife are working and can make this requirement money in 2 months time.

The CHC also asked for personal net worth. My net worth comes to approx. CAD$475,000

Considering this situation, will I get my PR Visa. My interview has been waived and I have been asked to pay the RPRF.

Please advise.

Singapore is asking too much details and it has been witnessed with other applicants too

can somebody pls help in clearing a confusion..SGVO asked for personal net worth statement. can we show the minimum POF as the net worth?

Another question, if the net worth amount is very big but somebody decides not to take the full amount to canada..can that be an issue?

in short i want to know the significance of this net worth value for getting visa and whether there is any hard n fast rule for that net worth amount..

Pls advise..
