Hey guys, needed some urgent help.

My wife and I are submitting our e-Apr next week, deadline is 5th of July.

We have a joint account which we are showing as proof of funds. In order to make the balance above the threshold limit we broke a deposit we had (which was also under both our names) and the amount is now in our joint savings account. This happened in the first week of June.

Now we have got the letter from the bank stating our names, account number and current balance. However since last six months average balance is required the balance of months from December to May is mentioned which is way less than the amount

What I thought of doing is to send as is with the bank statements and then mention this in a LOE. Or should I just wait for them to ask for an explanation?

You should be able to write a LoE section on this (+ send bank statements) explaining the same. Six month average balances are requested because they want to make sure you did not just borrow money from relatives to include in your account to show balance. Since your source of funds is your own FD, you should be able to justify your accounts.

Might even be good to attach a copy (to LoE) of the deposit liquidation/release stating that the deposit was in fact in both your names.
