My husband and I are applying to go to Canada under the FSW programme. I am the principal applicant and he will be accompanying me. At the moment we have money in online accounts in each of our names. Is this acceptable, or will I have to transfer the money into an account just in my name? If I transfer his balance into my account it might look like I've just borrowed the money. If I leave it in his name I'm worried it won't be acceptable.

This process is stressful enough without worrying about this too!

Also, will statements printed at home by me be acceptable? I don't think I have the option of a proper 'sent out by the bank statement' as the account is only online.

Oh yes, and another money related questions. We have two properties that we are in the process of selling, so on paper we have assets, but we don't have the cash yet. How do we fill in the assets and liabilities sections on the form?

Any advice would be appreciated!

Apologies - this is just about the same as my other thread, but I'd added another question, thinking I hadn't actually posted it yet. I'm not normally such a numpty!

Hi, The funds can be either in your account, your husbands account or joint account it does not matter. As far as the online account is concerned, talk to the bank and check if they can provide bank balance certificate that should be fine, for properties you can put in the value which you are gettin in assets section and that should be fine.

Thanks. I'm not sure what a bank balance certificate is, but I'll phone the bank and ask them about it.

I guess I have to put the value after the mortgage is paid off, or should I put the total value in the assets and the mortgage in the liabilities?

I'm scared of getting it wrong and them sending my application back.

I don't know if they send applications back for things like that?
