Guys, I have a question regarding POF

I am expecting to get ITA in a couple of draws from now on (EE Score: 417) with required documents in place. However, I have a slight confusion regard to Proof of Funds. I currently have a FD in a bank equivalent however its not sufficient. Currently, I hold equity investments in stocks of different listed companies. Post ITA, can I value these stocks from an organization at current market value and show it as proof of funds (Stocks+FD) or does it have to be liquid cash. CIC does states investment accounts however it does not clarify. Guys, please throw some light.

- cash
- documents that show property or capital payable to you (such as stocks, bonds, debentures, treasury bills, etc.) or
- documents that guarantee payment of a set amount of money, which are payable to you (such as bankers’ drafts, cheques, travellers’ cheques or money orders).

If you're CEC, just don't enter any funds as it's not required for CEC. If you enter funds, you need to prove that you really have it. Hope that helps.

I don't say you don't need proof of funds, I'm saying you don't need any funds. And if you don't enter something, CIC won't ask you for proof.

What I am saying is that when you enter $10000 you will have to prove that you have $10000. When you enter $0, you wont have to prove anything. It works for CEC because there is no requirement around funds. So you would still be eligible.

Say I get ITA and I haven't got the the necessary funds in my account. I intend to ask my parents to make transfers to my account from their account after i receive ITA.
I will then take the statements. Is that valid?

Dear Seniors,

I have a question regarding proof of funds. I am an Indian citizen but currently living in US.
Is it ok to show proof of funds in US bank account or is it compulsory to show the funds in country of citizenship?

Thanks.

You can show US funds. The bank account should be in your name.
