Proof of funds queries?

Please help with following queries :

1. have a FD in bank on joint account of me and my brother's name, will that suffice for proof of funds if I get a letter from bank stating same?

2. I have some balance in my account in overseas bank account(UK bank account as I worked there) but I live in India and Indian citizen. Can I add my UK bank account statement showing constant balance for a period of six month?

3. Will it be Indian bana even + UK balance or it should be completely from on bank account?

I'm not sure if it'll suffice since the account balance is important. Moreover, you aren't the sole owner of the account/joint with your spouse but with your brother. So, that could complicate things. Since you have money in UK as well, I'd say provide that too (and any other accounts in your name) just to be safe.

1 - No, you cannot show proof of funds on a joint account (only exception is when you have a joint account with your spouse).

2 - Yes.

3 - You can use different banks and different accounts.

You can use as many bank accounts as you wish as long as the account is in your name or your accompanying spouse/common-law partner.

So that account you have joint with your brother cannot be used unless you get a gift deed from him stating the money in the account is all yours to use for immigration to canada and he does not expect you to repay him.

Yes you can use the UK account plus an account in India.

what about the stocks, if someone owns stocks(shares) can they add that to show the proof of funds?
I have few shares that I am keeping from some time and I can get a net worth certificate from CA with all that on it. Will it work?
