Hello. I googled 100times but still can’t find my answer. I hope somebody here helps me out!

My EE profile is eligible for Canadian Experience Class. However, i didn’t have enough score to get ITA, so I applied for Provincial Nominee Program and I have been invited under Provincial Nominee Program.
In this case, do I need to show my proof of funds? CIC says you don’t have to show proof of funds under CEC, but doesn’t say about PNP.

Thank you in advance!

Well, it depends on what PNP stream you applied under. In Ontario, the Human Capital Priorities stream is one of only two Express Entry PNP streams. They draw you from the EE pool (you don't apply directly).

Getting a PNP from any of the other streams usually means you're no longer applying through Express Entry, which means you're not applying through the CEC. In that case, your proof of funds is typically your job offer (OINP nominees do not need an LMIA job offer to qualify, a regular one is fine).

Hi, I think the pof is still needed because your eligibility (67 points) for EE depends on your funds. If you don't have eligibility for EE profile you can't create a profile so where will you get 600 points.
And logic behind POF not applicable for CEC class is that they already have means to sustain in Canada i.e the job.

Thank you for your reply. I applied for “Nova Scotia Experience: Express Entry” which tied up with Express Entry Program. (You must meet one of EE stream eligibility to apply) I can see my application process on my EE account, so I believe my application is being processed under EE..

Perfect. Thanks for replying so fast! According to Nova Scotia Experience's Application Guide:

Proof of Funds
You must show that you have sufficient funds to successfully establish yourself and your family in Nova Scotia and to pay your immigration costs and travel expenses (if applicable) at the time of application to NSOI and your application for permanent residency to IRCC (as well as at Express Entry profile submission stage).

The amount of money you need to demonstrate to NSOI to support your family is determined by the size of your family, as shown here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp.

The funds must be in your name or in the name of your accompanying spouse. These funds must be unencumbered by debts or obligations transferable and available to you. Funds must be liquid (i.e. not real estate) and cannot be borrowed. These funds can be in the form of:
  • Cash
  • Documents that show property or capital payable to you (such as stocks, bonds, debentures, treasury bills, etc.)
  • Documents that guarantee payment of a set amount of money, which are payable to you (such as bankers’ drafts, cheques, travellers’ cheques or money orders)

You do not have to show that you have these funds if:
  • You have a valid job offer (offer of arranged employment) in Nova Scotia AND
  • You are currently working or authorized to work in Nova Scotia
=================================================================================

This makes me think that Nova Scotia requires you to show proof of funds for the nomination, whether through a job offer or through traditional proofing methods.

However, this only applies to the PNP itself. Since you're already a nominee and are applying through the CEC stream (make sure you double and triple check this), you do not need to show proof of funds in any way for your actual application for Permanent Residence. At this point, it's more of a "nice to have" than a "need to have".

I hope this helped. Good luck!

No problem! I hear NS is absolutely stunning so good on you. I'm experiencing a lot of uncertainty with my own OINP application so I'm glad there's people like you out there who have it all together.

Hello all
I have submitted PNP application for SINP.
In that for proof of fund I had shown my savings account statement.
If my application accept by Saskatchewan govt, then I need to apply for PR visa in cic right?
During that time do I need to submit fund proof again?

Hello there,
Here is my situation:
I was in the pool under CEC but I didn’t have enough score so I wasn’t invited. Then I was invited by Alberta to apply for their EE stream and I got 600 points. Then I got AOR under PNP. At the moment (back in November 2018) I thought I was invited under CEC so I didn’t submit POF.
Last week, I reviewed my ITA and realized that I was wrong the whole time. However, they haven’t not requested me to submit POF but to prevent the future cause, I submitted CSE case to explain and told them I will submit POF asap. The officer said they appreciated me to inform them the missing documents, they advised me to submit it asap.
Then CIBC made it very difficult for me and now I wanna give up (just ignore it and not sending them POF).
What do you think will happen?!

Why is CIBC making it difficult for you? You should be able to access your bank statements using your online banking. There should be no need to contact CIBC directly.

Hi everybody,
I got the Ontario PNP nominee and after received the invitation from CIC to complete my express entry application under provincial nominee.

"We are writing to you about your Express Entry profile submission.
Based on the information you provided us in your Express Entry profile, we are pleased to invite you to apply for permanent residence under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) "
I'm trying to understand if I need to prove the exact amount of funds or because the nomination in Ontario was based in a Skilled Trades ( currently working) I also met the CEC and than I don't need to prove them .
Any help ?
Thanks

It happened the almost exact thing to you:
i didn't have enough score, so I was invited by BC to apply for their EE stream and got 600 points. I also thought that I was invited through CEC, so I only submited a LOE that I was applying under that stream, hence a POF was not required, and just reviewed today my ITA and it says PNP and not CEC.
Apparently you don't need to be CEC only, it might even apply for other programs, the only prerequisite is that you have a valid job offer, plus a valid work permit, according to: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1145&top=29

"The system currently asks all applicants to provide a proof of funds document. If you don’t need to provide proof of funds, you must upload a letter explaining either that you have been invited to apply under the Canadian Experience Class, or that you have a valid job offer."
I am assuming that if you were invited by Alberta, then you do have a valid job offer, so I guess there is nothing to worry.
