Hi guys,

I have some question regarding proof of funds. I had a fixed deposit in my name in india of 12000 US DOLLARS.When i asked an expert in opportunities ontario that whether fixed deposit will work as proof of funds he told me that it may not work because that amount must be immediately accesible to you.I broke my fixed deposit and transferred that amount in my new bank account. I am planning to apply for PNP on october 1st but by that time my bank account will only be 5 months old.when i asked that expert again via e-mail,his reply was like this:

Opportunities Ontario does not require you to have the required funds in your bank account for the past 6 months. We are asking to see a balance in your bank account of the requested amount and it has to be in a chequing and savings account.

Funds that are not readily available on demand would generally not be acceptable for your settlement in Ontario. However, if the said funds are those that can be liquidated on demand, may be acceptable. Investment funds would generally not count towards the minimum funds requirement in support of your nominee application. Funds that are not readily available on demand would generally not be acceptable as settlement funds in support of your application.

Waiting for your reply.Thanks

Hi David,

I just saw your post regarding Proof of Funds and how yours was 1 month shy of completing 6 months. how did this turn out for you? Im currently in a very similar situation and was wondering if i should proceed with a bank account that's less than 1 month of the required length.

Looking forward to your response.
