Proof of Funds on Landing

Do I need to carry the entire required 12k+ $ in cash ??

Can I carry part of the amount in cash and keep the rest in my account back in India to be transferred later directly to a Canadian Bank A/c and provide proof of the funds in my Indian account through a bank statement?

You can use your foreign bank statement as a proof of funds for landing if the money is available to you in Canada for your use.
