Hey guys,

I am joining you on the journey towards our Permanent Resident visa, through Express Entry.
I was getting all the documents needed in advance, and I have some questions in regard to Proof of Funds:

1) My bank gave me a certificate that includes everything that is needed, but the current amount displayed is in Brazilian Reais (R$). The bank said that they couldn't provide a document with the Canadian correspondent amount, only our local currency. Do you know if there is any problem to CIC if I submit this document in my EE profile? Do CIC really require that the Bank Certificate should include the current amount in Canadian dollars?

2) My bank statements were provided in a complicated and long document. Do I need to translate it, or the translation of only the Bank Certificate is enough for Express Entry?

3) If, for any reason, CIC finds any problem in regard to the Bank Certificate or the statements: is my EE application refused and I need to resubmit it and wait for another draw?? Or they say that there is a document missing (for example) and they give me a deadline to provide it?

Thank you so much!

1) Local currency is fine

2) If all required information is on the letter (including six months average account balance), there is no need to translate the statement or to even send it. If the letter isn't in English, it needs to be translated by Canadian-certified translator. You can't do it yourself.

3) They will usually reject it if you forgot to include a document that they asked of you upfront. If you included all documents, and they still require additional information, they will give you an option to provide it.
Thanks for the response! Yeah, I was talking about a certified translator, not me. I didn't use the right words... ;D

My Bank Certificate includes: my entire name, current day, bank information (address and telephone number), my bank account number, the opening date and the current amount, in Brazilian reais.
It doesn't include the six months average, only the current amount. All the transactions in the past 6 months are on the Bank Statements, though.

In this case, should I really send a translation of the bank statements as well (even if it is a complicated and long document)?

Thanks again!
