Hi everyone,

I am from Australia, I just got my case approved for Canada Immigration. Me and my wife are planning be there soon. I being the primary applicant will come first and my wife will join me later as she is studying now and can only come in June.

At the time of landing, I am aware that for 2 people, I need to show at least CA $ 12,659/- as proof of funds. Can anyone guide me about

1. Ways to show funds(cash, money order, etc).
2. If I want to bring cash say CA $ 15,000/- with me, will I get taxed on that?
3. I'll be coming alone for a start, Does my wife (who will join me in June), also has to show proof of funds at the time of landing?

Any other things that i need to keep in mind?

All the information will be really helpful. Thanks everyone in advance.

Regards,

S Singh

1. Any
2. You must declare them (if you have more than $10 000) at the point of entrance. There is no taxation for amount indicated at the moment of landing.
3. Do not know.

I have a same question. I received a query that they want to see my bank statement for last three months and also proof of funds.
I have a checking account where i get my paycheck and then i have a separate account which is my saving account. For proof of funds can i get a letter from a bank that i have an account with them with the amount? Please let me know.

The funds can be in the U.S. or Canada. You're just showing that you have them available.

Yes, that should be ok. But if the note from your bank is not recent, Immigration could ask you for updated proof. That's why an ATM receipt is a good option.

Re: Proof of Funds @ landing in Canada

I have an account in RBC bank Canada. Can I print online statement as a proof of fund?
