Hello All,
I have received an email from the immigration today asking for some additional documents along with the permanent residence fee.
They are asking for proof of funds from my husband who is the principal applicant. I'm trying to sponsor him from USA. Is there a minimum requirement for the proof of funds? Or can he just simply show his bank statement and pay stubs.
Fyi also..he does not have savings..is that going to be a problem?

Thanks

You jsut need to send Option C Printout for the year previous to your application, i.e. 2012, it was filed this year.

They are asking the principal applicant, not the sponsor, so Option C is not the one they are looking for.

To the OP:
I'm not really sure why they asked for a proof of income from the principal applicant because even the sponsor doesn't even have a minimum income requirement to sponsor a spouse.
My suggestion to you tho is to still send them your spouse's pay stubs, if you can make a case inquiry why it was needed, it would be better.

I don't think his savings/amount of money he earns will have any impact on your sponsorship.

I tried researching if there's such thing and from what I have seen it is only required for skilled workers app.
anyways I don't know if the visa workers are just frustrated with their jobs because
1. Supposedly they sent the email to my husband 4 months ago but the email address was missing one letter so end result we did not get it until now that they cc me on their final notice email.....cause of delay and mistake on their end cos we checked our photocopied application and we correctly typed his email..
2. They're asking for additional documentation that is not even necessary for the type of sponsorship that we applied to.

Oh well....
Keeping our fingers crossed that everything will be finalized before the end of this year. Our daughter and I have been longing for a complete family.
thank you for the replies...
