Hi luqi,

POF is very important in application.Property is not valid POF (not easily liquidated).

For 3 members, u need to show nearly CA$18k.

For short of funds, borrow temporary and deposit in bank. Get a BALANCE CERTIFICATE (not bank statement) as of date and attach

As discussed with Coolguy in another post, DON'T do this. It's illegal and it is immigration fraud.

Funds even at the application stage must entirely belong to the applicant and cannot be borrowed.

Depending on your visa office, however, you may be able to show equity in property as proof of funds at the application stage. My advice is to confirm with the visa office you intend to apply with whether or not this will be acceptable.

London UK I believe still accept this, I am not sure about the other visa offices.

Best of luck,
Wayne.

i am worried because if i borrow money from someone and then in the mid they ask me back my case will be affected

At any point during the process they can ask to see proof of funds, and may ask to see up to 12 months bank statements. I believe they do this on a spotcheck basis precisely to prevent applicants from temporarily borrowing the funds and claiming the money belongs to them.

If they see a large amount deposited they will ask you to prove its source. When you can't prove its source (or have to admit it is borrowed) your application will fail AND they may make you ineligible to reapply for a number of years.

It's not worth it!

If you do not have sufficient funds to apply, you can look into Category 2 or PNP with a job offer from a Canadian employer, in which case proof of settlement funds is not required.

Hi All, I have similar query and would appreciate if someone could provide an answer. I am gong to file my application in coming 2 - 3 weeks, and my query is regarding proof of funds. I understand that ideally all funds must be under my name, but due to personal obligations this is not possible. Can I show a joint account with my father/mother/grandfather. Will it be acceptable, or is there any other alternative method to show the required funds. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. (AJAY)

Dear All

Let me clear the situation here

for India/ Pak etc. Property as POF is not accepted and they will ask again for POF

1. The best POF is the old lying funds
a. with you as deposit/ FD/ Bonds/ equity ( encash it and deposit in Bank FD and provide details to VO stating the source of Funds)
b. with your Father/ Mother/ FIN/ MIN and get a gift deed from them and letter mentioning the availability of funds for your use or best is get a gift deed and make FD in your name and send the gift deed +letter form parents+your FDR letter from bank stating the funds are free from any encumbrances
c. If you have gold put it in gold loan give money to your parents /MIL/ FIN and get the gift of their FD's made atleast two-five years back or get the cheque of sale from jeweller along with a sale certificate

I hope this will help

You need to collect balance certificate where the bank will certify the bank balance as current date

If u take the bank statement, it will show DATE of various transactions (which will show that u had deposit large amount in 1day and it will create a problem for u later on)

In balance certificate it will not show any transactions such as cash deposited on 1st may 10,00,000.

Balance certificate will show balance of xxxxxxx as of 27th may 2013

upon submission of your application to CIO, it's ok that you provide just a balance statement, but the problem here is that by the time your application reaches the embassy, it is possible that they will ask you where did you get the money and you have to provide an explanation for that...

I will give the affidavit that is given by my father as a gift.

But I am concerned about when the ask me again to show the money.

After submission the application, when Case officer want this statement?

How long I have to keep it in my account after launching the application?

Please help me and share your experience

for my application, I only sent my POF upon submission to CIO, when the embassy in Manila started processing my application, they did not ask for an updated balance statement or bank history, but there are some people whom I know, they were asked to provide updated statements, I think it's around 8-9months after filing the application. my suggestion is for you to keep the money in your account until you have a final decision with your application, because if they will ask you for 6-12 months history of your account, they will see that you removed the money at some time and put it back again, which will make them suspicious even if you provide an affidavit that it's a gift from your father

May b its safe. As it is a gift and its a huge amount, I can use it for various purpose. I have to show them currently how much money I have in my account. already I have transaction statement almost 12000C$ in last year. So, I can show the statement as well. But I am afraid about the instant cash, If they want to see. This is the problem

Thankyou for this! I think its the most apt and adequate reply to the people like me who are concerned about POF.
However i have still some questions regarding it.

a- You said about old funds lying as Bonds. If i encash it and deposit it in my account, how will i make CIC believe that the money was from enchasing bonds which were my savings? Will the bank give me a statment that the money was deposited by encashing bonds? If no, then how will the CIC come to know about?
b- Similar is the case with POF from father as a gift deed? What do i need to do for this? Get money transferred to my account from my Fathers account? How will i show it to CIC that the money was a gift deed?

Please reply!
