hi all,
i am applying for immigration under the federal skilled worker class. the problem i am having is the proof of funds i have 3 family members (including me). can any one tell me how important the proof of funds is.
i dont have a strong bank statement but i have money in cash upto 10,000 CAD. Moreover i have a property whose value is approx 30,000 CAD. what if i show only my property as my proof of fund or if i show these 10,000 CAD in cash along with the property. i am very confused please if someone could guide me
:(
thanks in advance

Hi luqi,

POF is very important in application.Property is not valid POF (not easily liquidated).

For 3 members, u need to show nearly CA$18k.

For short of funds, borrow temporary and deposit in bank. Get a BALANCE CERTIFICATE (not bank statement) as of date and attach

According to the CIC, you must provide proof of settlement funds with your application. With consideration to your total assets and liabilities, indicate the total amount (in Canadian dollars) of unencumbered, transferable and available funds that you have for settlement in Canada.

See guide http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp

Its very imp...as coolguy said....arrange and get the certificate...... :)

coolguy what is the difference between balance certificate and bank statement? will it be fine that i deposit the required amount in a day or two and then i attach the balance certificate/bank statement. because i am worried about the noc cap. it would reach to its limit if i delay the process. i have only this proof of funds issue. All documents are complete.

any Bank statement - either in an automated form or certified by someone in bank should suffice.

Hmm.. It seems this is handled differently from VO to VO.. My application was approved showing only my properties net worth (Assets minus Liability) Never sent a statement or anything..well, the bank vouched for me in a letter.. was obviously fine in my case.

i am worried because if i borrow money from someone and then in the mid they ask me back my case will be affected

Hi..I have invested some money in stocks. Is it possible to give a print out of current market value of these stocks? The print out will be on letterhead of the brokerage company.

Has anyone done this or know if its acceptable?

Thanks.

Hi Gtaark,

The print out of Current Market Value of Stock is acceptable to CIC as it is readily encashable. I know many people, who have sent this to CIC as POF and CIC has accepted it.

Thanks.

Thanks Fuad...is there any format letter that I should make from the Brokerage company, where my investments are?

Kindly advise on how to present these funds.

Thanks.

You can just take the current stock list of your account with the share broker, which usually is system generated and then get that signed and stamped by the brokerage house official.

You need to collect balance certificate where the bank will certify the bank balance as current date

If u take the bank statement, it will show DATE of various transactions (which will show that u had deposit large amount in 1day and it will create a problem for u later on)

In balance certificate it will not show any transactions such as cash deposited on 1st may 10,00,000.

Balance certificate will show balance of xxxxxxx as of 27th may 2013
