Thank you a lot! And do I need the funds at all as I am working on a young professional visa already here in Canada? My Visa is valid until September and my work contract is valid until then too. It is a skilled job but no LMIA or pnp since it is just a young professional visa on IEC. I am applying through skilled worker since I hav not reached 1 year work experience in Canada yet

Hi are you sure about this? visitor99 says he's already authorized to work in Canada

Do I need to include proof of funds for Express Entry?
You will be asked to enter in your Express Entry profile the amount of money you will have to help you settle in Canada. This is to show that you can support yourself and any family who come with you to Canada, and helps us assess which programs you may be eligible for.

You will only need to meet the settlement fund requirement if it applies to the program you are invited to apply under.

If you are invited to apply under the Federal Skilled Worker Program or Federal Skilled Trades Program, you will need to show that you meet the settlement funds requirement unless you:

are currently authorized to work in Canada, and
have a valid job offer from an employer in Canada.
Note: You do not have to meet the funds requirement if you were invited to apply under the Canadian Experience Class.

I'm sure as he's been invited under the FSW program AND he does not have a valid job offer.

Do you qualify under Canadian Experience Class? Otherwise I don't think your term job qualifies as a valid job offer and you have to show the PoF

I was wondering if anyone can help me out with my inquiry. My wife is going to get invited hopefully in the next draw as she has 481 points.

She is doing her Phd in Canada and doesn't have $15,312(for 2 family members) in her account as fund. I am working in Canada under PGWP and I do have the funds in my account. She will be the main applicant. Will it be okay to show the fund from my account or does the fund need to be in her name in her account? I can transfer the funds in her account but since as far as I know she will need to submit her bank statement for last 6 months, so it will be visible that the chunk of money came to her account suddenly just before the draw.

Can someone please suggest the best course of action in this scenario? Thanks

I'm not sure if I come under Canadian Experience Class. I completed my masters and then did my co-op, Noc-B-2282. I am now working with the same company under a post-graduate work permit. it is a full-time job but not permanent yet.

Unless you have a year of full-time skilled work experience in Canada you won't qualify under the CEC program.

Your co-op experience does not count.

Minimum requirements
You must:

have at least 12 months of full-time (or an equal amount in part-time) skilled work experience in Canada in the three years before you apply,
have gained your experience in Canada with the proper authorization,
meet the required language levels needed for your job for each language ability (speaking, reading, writing and listening),
plan to live outside the province of Quebec.

I think some people that qualified for both FSW and CEC were saying that they were picked for FSW.

In that case, they set their PoF to $0 and then they were only qualified for CEC.

I complete 1 year in June 2017. But this means I need to wait 3 years more to be considered under CEC? I think in that case ill rather apply under skilled labour category then

Lol, I got confused so i read again. For now, I am under FSW then. I have around 490 points as I did my masters from Canada, my job offer won't be valid as it is on yearly term basis. I have sufficient funds but in a joint account with my family. Should I go ahead and apply under FSW or wait till June 2017 and then apply under CEC?

Please advise :)
