Thank you Vishalg for so quick reply.
Only affidavit need to attach. No need to attach Passport and marriage certificate?
yes. There are separate placeholders for marriage certificate and passport.

Hi Team,
I had applied for express entry to Canada and recently I received an ITA for the same.
I have a few questions regarding the funds that I will have to show during the documentation process.
My spouse will be accompanying me to Canada. Before marriage the funds were in the name of my husband and my father-in-law, who is the prime holder of the account. But a few fixed deposits in the same account are only in the name of my husband.
So,
Firstly, can I include these FDs to show the funds as they are in the name of my husband; if not then

Secondly will a gift deed of $12,071 from my father-in-law work for the purpose. And also, does the big amount ($12,071) hamper our process.

It's Urgent as i have to submit all my docs till 4th of April.

1 - Is this bank account under your name? Whether you provide tax returns or not you still have to provide a bank letter following IRCC's guidelines, if you're unable to obtain this then you must provide bank statements.

2 - Proof of transfer along gift deed.

3 - You can apply as soon as you get the money.
hi delpiero ..what is proof of transfer ?
do you mean my bank statement with the cheque clearance transaction?
i am getting a gift deed from my dad , i would not like to show his bank statement ... is that fine?
i have the gift deed and affidavit... is that fine n good enough?

2. Affidavit is legal. I will do attach affidavit, merge the passport and marriage certificate to it. Is that fine?
Thanks

Hi,

I'm planning to land in couple of months, would like to understand the POF requirement at Port of entry.
Can I bring statements from my Indian bank to use for this purpose? Is this acceptable?
Is bringing money through traveller's cheque a safe option?
Is it wise to create account at scotiabank before landing and then transfer money?

You can bring your bank statements from your country.

Make sure you have some money on you for immediate expenses. Money could be debit/credit cards from your current bank account, Travellers Cheque etc

There's no point creating an account before you land in my opinion. It will not be active and you will need to go to the bank to activate it.
Just walk into a bank with your relevant documents after you arrive and they will open an account for you. You can then transfer your money over.

Thanks for your reply,

Is traverller's cheque is a safe option, I'm not familiar with this.
I heard they may raise question over foreign bank's statement which is generally in local currency.

Travellers cheque is safe. It's like any cheque and you can cash it at the airport when you arrive.

I don't see why they will question foreign bank statement. You are not allowed to carry more than $10,000 cash into Canada, so how will they expect you to get your money.

Anyway, I landed with just about 3k. The agent asked me and I told how much I had. Informed him i would transfer the remaining. they didn't even ask to see the statement

$10,000 is around CAD$13,500 which is above the required amount if you're single. If you're married, can't your wife carry another $10,000?

Hi All,

A couple of questions. Apologies if these have been answered before.

1. I got all POFs from the banks in the form of Balance certificates and Statements on 3rd of March, but I am planning to submit my ITA application by March end. Wanted to check if my POFs will be valid for this long?

2. There are two places to upload POFs documents (mine and my wife's), and I am assuming that the sum of funds for me and my wife should exceed the minimum requirement and not only mine. Please confirm.

Thanks!

1. people here suggest to take bank statements 2-3 weeks before submission of APR. I got mine one week ago and plan to submit by the end of this month as well :) I guess we should be good
2. not sure why, but I have only one place to upload PoF, which under my name...

Actually, I should correct that. It's CAD$10,000.

And you are required to declare if you bring in more than that amount, not that it's not allowed.
