Hello everyone,

I am arriving in Toronto on July 5th and I'm not sure what would work as proof of funds at the port of entry. Will my bank statement from HDFC bank do ? Or should I get an account created with Scotiabank from India itself and transfer my funds there? I'm being told that I can open an account with Scotia from India but I'm not really sure if i should transfer my funds. Please guide me on what needs to be done for proof of funds at the airport.

Thank you in advance and appreciate your help!

Heather

I just meant that instead of going crazy about bank accounts, cash is always the easiest way.

You can just bring US dollars and exchange them here.

I will be entering canada soon with my wife and daughter. how much money as proof of funds should i show for Me my wife and daughter combined ? please help !!

Do tourist also need to show funds when they arrive
You might be asked by CBSA how you are funding your stay and purpose of visit but there is no obligation to show funds unless asked as generally for a visitor an officer would probably take your word You can fund your visit and base any questions based on your length of stay/ return ticket.

If you are lucky enough to be carrying 10000 CDN or more cash in any currency combination you should declare that anyway.
