Proof of funds as FD( Gift deed from father)

Dear members

I will be thankful for your guidance for the following query:

I am applying for express entry, and as a proof of funds i am having an FD which will be shown as gift deed from my father.
Thing is it will not be 6 months old and as told by my agent a gift deed does not need to be 6 months old.
I will be thankful if you shed some light if my agent is guiding me correct.

Gift deed can be less than six months old. But make sure your letter from financial institution mentions that FD can be liquidated at will
