Hi,

Is it true that for funds requirements, non accompanying dependents would be taken into consideration as well.
I would be including my spouse and 2 kids in my application. I would be excluding my parents but they are dependents. So does it mean I'd be required to show funds for a family of 6 instead of 4 ??

Family Members Funds Required
(in Canadian dollars)
1 $11,824
2 $14,720
3 $18,097
4 $21,971
5 $24,920
6 $28,105
7 or more $31,291

Regards
PR

Yes - you must include non-accompanying dependents when calculating proof of funds.

Dependents are your spouse and children.

Parents are NOT dependents and should not be included in the POF calculation.

Thanks Scylla.
My doubt was mainly concerning about parents. Thanks for clarifying.

Parents Fund need not to be calculated.

In your case, total members including you will be 04.

( Father + Mother + 2 children = 4)

How about if I am going alone as a single?

Does it mean I do not have to show proof of funds, since Family Member = 0?

Or am I considered under '1 family member'?

Of course it's not zero. You must show proof of funds for 1.

The only thing is, from my understanding, that you cannot just bring your parents. You will have to sponsor them later.

At what stage we need to show the funds requirement? Pls clarify.

I'm accompanying my spouse and 1 kid, and I have father and mother they are not accompanying, should I calculate as 2 or 4? pls clarify.

You will have to show POF when you submit the PR application (if you are selected under EE). CIC may also ask you to provide updated evidence that you still have POF while your application is being processed. You may once again have to demonstrate that you have POF when you land in Canada and become a PR.

You need to show POF for 3 (yourself, your spouse, your child).

My husband and my daughter will not accompany me to Canada. Does it mean they are not included on the funds required? that I should only provide fund for 1?

Thanks for the answer. How about if my declared accompanying dependents was't able to come with me in canada, would CIC still require them to follow me in alotted time? or is there required time for any immigrants to go to canada right after given a PR visa?

I am Canadian citizen. Should my Indian wife who is applying for express entry PR still show funds for 2 people or 1 person?

1 person only.

She also cannot claim any points related to you (i.e. your education, your language abilities, any siblings in Canada, etc.).
