Hello people, Can a fixed deposit be shown to the immigration officer when he asks for the proof of funds after I land in Toronto?

Dont have a full proof answer for that, you can show but include a letter from the bank that the FD funds are readily en-cashable.

some times they don't ask for this . But for secure our side , make latest balance certificate from your bank . When imm officer will ask you for fund just tell them total amount not as RD+FD+ Saving + Cash . In our case we bring 3500 in cash and all other balance in saving account . But at the time of immigration they told us about how much balance we have , We told them 20000$ , that's it. They didn't tell us to show and any other qns .

It should be in the form of a Bank Certificate.

Deposit will be in home country bank account ? right or we need to open account at Canada before reaching there ?
