My check concerning the Proof of Fund at the point of entry showed that we are just creating "unecessary fear" for ourselves.i discussed with Canadian Immigration Authority on this subject last week Thurs and was told that no Immigrant will be sent back if theProof of Fund is not with him or her. I was told that the Authority have confirmed this b4 the issuance of theImmigrant visa. For you to have been issued a visa shows that you metall the necessary criteria hence your immigrant visa. Hence the issue of Proof of fund is settled while your application was under process. Was also told that it is a procedural thing to ask every landing immigrant. No one will be sent back as being touted by some members of this forum.
A good friend of mine landed just yesterday with $300 on him(his 2 brothers are in Toronto and ready to accommodate them and settled them in Canada until they are comfortable on their own) and and his wife and he was never bothered nor troubled. When asked he told them he had a property put up for sale and this takes time (He flew from London -Toronto). I decided to call Canadaian Authority when he was afraid to travel without the funds on him.
No further questions but was welcomed home.I have read a lot about members of this forum concern on this issue and that prompted me to make the inquiry
We are landing in September..though we have the Fund but to be honest am not taking everything with me bcos i still have unfinished business in London.
Please lets stop creating uneccesary fear and anxiety on non issues! God that saw us through this stage of getting the Visa will not abandone us at this stage..common guys!
Wish you guys all the best.

Fear is in human nature. A little fear is good I guess to get us prepared and ready for circumstances that we might not be prepared for. However, we should not be carried away and be in control. Thanks for the information... it will be helpful in future i guess.

Shibuya,
For me, the proof of fund has never been a problem. My friends are in this "fear" position likewise some of ourmembers in this forum.
Yes i have a relative that is ready to provide us with accommodation and support as long as we want. But my concern is about our members and friends who believe that without the fund they will not be allowed to land. That was the basis of my enquiry with the Canadian Immigration Authority.

f2 this is great post but we can't take your discussion with the Immigration Authority to generalize the rule. I have read somewhere in the manual that the funds needs to be available/accessible when one lands. May be you are right but it's good to ask forum members if they know or have heard of anyone that has been sent back because of funds availability or lack thereof on landing?

Well your friend has family to there and sure it is stated in there initial application, which maybe a factor why POF was not scrutinized upon landing. I am sure, We will not hear a lot of people posting about being denied in the airport because of lack of fund, because everybody, well almost everybody brougth the POF with them. I don't know, I will wait for the seniors opinion on this matter. ;)
