Cash is all right, if your local bank is an international bank then it is all right, otherwise how immigration in Canada will check its authencity if they require.

I do understand that DD, cash and TCs are the best way. But in my situation, I would like to know about bank statement's acceptability and the risk involved in using it as POF for landing.

Bank account statement of local bank of your country will not be acceptable as POF when you land in Canada.
Risk is that they may send you back from the airport.
