Proof of Fund = Bank Statement?

I visited my local HSBC branch in Hong Kong to ask for an official letter from them, but they are not aware of any letters like that they can provide. They think the bank statement that I can download online is the one that is the most similar thing that can be used as proof of funds. Same thing with my broker account as well. They just ask me to print online proof of my account value.

My question is will these suffice for the proof of fund?

This should work but it will be better if you ask them for a letter which mention your details along with the current balance in your account. You can then use the bank statements to support that letter.

Totally agree. Some banks nowadays even give you the option to generate that document in your online account to make it easier for their clients.

I'm from Australia and yeah at the branch, my bank said the same thing, but when I called them up to ask for a balance letter including the opening date of my account and the signature of whoever processes the letter and they could do that. I wrote an LOE just in case, saying that my bank doesn't provide a personalized letter that matches requirements from IRCC so I attached my bank statements too.
