Proof of fund/bank statement

I am employed and work under work permit.
In my back account I receive my salary and I have a very small saving (~ 4000CAD), I am wondering do I still should show I have enough money to support myself for 6 months, or just being employed is enough? If I am employed why they want an account statement anyway?

They want a statement. Better, take from one of your friends and take a bank statement stating that you have these many funds... CIBC charges $14 for this purpose.
I took some money from my friends, took the bank statement from both cibc and rbc and also included my pay slips. Combined all the three into one PDF

No you don't, since you're having work permit, check below link.

Officially, it is not mentioned any where in the CIC website. But its always better to apply with 10k or more. Its safe side. We should not give the VISA officer any chance to slow the application process.

In the link above, it clearly stated

"you have a valid offer of arranged employment in Canada AND
you are currently working or authorized to work in Canada."

Arranged employment = LMIA.

So if you haveLMIA , then you do not need any funds.

Just to update this thread as I was looking for this information.

If you're currently working in Canada, you don't need to have much in your bank accounts - means: there's no minimum amount to have.

Here is the updated portion shared by @Rahul12 before:

You don’t need to show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family to meet the program requirements of the Canadian Experience Class (this includes provincial nominees who are part of the CEC stream).

Note that you do not need proof of funds if you are currently:

• authorized to work in Canada and
• have a valid job offer

I was worried that I had to have between $10k and $20k, but that's not the case.
In my case, I'll provide the bank statements for the past 6 months plus my payment slips.

No. If you're a CEC applicant you simply have to upload a letter stating that you've been invited under the CEC program and that you're not required to provide POF. That's all you have to do.
