Hello All,

I received ITA in Jan 13th draw and I am now in the process of submitting the documents.

For PoF I plan to submit receipts of Fixed Deposit which I have with HDFC Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank. I created these FDs online and so I don't have hardcopy FD receipts. Bank do allow to download softcopy (e-copy) of the Fixed Deposits online. But, these online copies don't have bank's sign & seal.

So, can I upload these FDs without bank sign & seal or do I need to get it signed and sealed from the bank?

Thanks in advance!!

The banks do stamp the FD's, please get them stamped and upload. This will avoid any delays or un-necessary hassle.

Go to bank. Ask them for FD receipts with stamp. Ask for a letter on Banks letter head, sign & stamp which lists all the FDs with date of opening and amount of FD. Also ask them to mention the date of opening of your account along with current balance.

Ask for last 6 months bank statement (bank version and not the online version) and get it stamped by them. Make sure you explain by a Letter of explanation / gift deed if it contains any large unknown deposit which may have lead to the FD.

Attach in your application: FD receipts, bank letter with FD and savings account details signed and stamped, statement.

Thank you all for prompt help. Unfortunately, my case is same as you described above. I have a large credit of around INR 6,50,000 (CAD 13,000) in Dec-2015 out of which I created all the FDs. My case is as below:

1. There were 4 accounts of my relatives say A1, A2, A3, A4
2. From these 4 accounts, money was transferred to my account B1 (I am the only account holder of B1)
3. From B1 money was transferred to my another account C1 (I am the only account holder of C1).
4. I created FDs in C1 for half of this amount and the other half I transferred to my another account D1.
5. I created FDs in D1

So, in summary the transactions are: A1 + A2 + A3 + A4 (all relative accounts) --> B1 (My account) --> C1 (My account) --> D1 (My account)

As proof, I am submitting FDs in account C1 and D1. So, do you think, I need to submit any gift deed for the proof of funds?

Thanks in advance!!

you have quite a messy situation..
IMO..submit everything that you just mentioned in your above explanation.

Take gift deeds A1,2,3,4.
Submit bank statement B1.
Submit Letter and FD receipts of C1 & D1.
Attach letter of explanation. Try explaining the reason for holding so many accounts. If any of these are joint accounts do not forget to attach a NOC of the other account holder.
