This will always be a requirement, and it makes sense. Canada is an English/French country, and those are the official languages. We are Afrikaans and English, and since we knew that we will be sending in proof we started chatting in English and we also made our FB posts etc. in English for the past two years before we applied. Worked out perfectly for us. We realized that we are moving to a country, through our own will, that is English - as such, we have started to communicate in English in our daily lives as well. It will just make your life easier when you get to Canada. Just my 10 cents.
You are wise.
Keep working at it and be prepared for challenges.
Many things to consider before moving....Location, environment, food, language, costs, etc.
It's not exactly like watching a western movie or seeing beautiful photo's in a magazine.
My area in the west is nice but very expensive and the vacancy rate is low. Newcomers are struggling.
There is no easy life here unless you are wealthy. Then you can buy a new Mercedes/BMW and the local government will love you.
My 10 cents doesn't buy a bag of peanuts or sunflower seeds any more.
If you are healthy, willing to work hard and remain flexible, opportunity will exist.
Don't give up
