Is it really necessary for my spouse to provide a citizenship certificate, when my husband can provide his Canadian Birth certificate and Canadian passport?
According to the document checklist (Sponsor), my husband could provide EITHER a photocopy of a Canadian Birth certificate, passport or citizenship card for proof of citizenship. He was born and raised in Canada.
But according to the region-specific document checklist (Immigrant), a photocopy of citizenship certificate for any family member who is a Canadian citizen is required.
I have researched on how to aquire a citizenship certificate, and it takes about 5 months or so, is it really necessary to include this in the application?
