Hello,
I’m a naturalised Canadian ( born in england ) and we had our son over here in the uk . Id like to go back to Canada so applied for his proof of citizenship and took it to the embassy in September 20th and received a receipt for the postage to Sydney .
Since then nothing. I was wondering what the next step is . Will I just receive it in the mail one day in 6 months or is there a way to check they received it etc . I’m fine with waiting but hearing nothing after I handed it in months ago is a little stressful . Thanks all!

If you provided your e-mail address, any communication regarding the application should be sent to it, including the Acknowledgment of Receipt with the Unique Client Identifier number, which you use to check the status of the application on the IRCC website; so probably you should check your spam folder. Otherwise, any communication from them would be sent over to the embassy.

Since you live outside of Canada and the US, the certificate would also be sent to the embassy, not mailed to you.
