Proof of citizenship 2019

Hi,

I have applied for Citizenship proof for my US born son recently, but have not received AOR yet. I though I would create a thread to share timelines with others.

- Sent package from USA by courier (UPS) on May 18th 2019.

- Package received by THOMAS on May 22nd 2019 at the adress 47-49 Dorchester in Sydney (even though I sent to 49 Dorchester).

Now waiting for AOR (not received as of July 8th).... will update this post once i got it.

Anyone else is in a similar place ?

Hi,

I was looking through the forum to find out if anyone else is in the same boat as I am. I live in the USA, and sent my application in for proof of citizenship for my two kids via DHL on June 18th 2019. I have also not yet received an AOR as of today. We had previously submitted the applications in March, but the packet was returned because we messed up the passport photos. Curious if you have since received your AOR?

just received AOR today !!! what a relief. application mailed from USA on May 18th. you will have to wait 1 more month my friend

Wow, that’s along time! Thanks for the update. Did you receive the AOR via post or email?

That's good at least one stage gone..submitted for kids since 18th April from lagos Nigeria till date no response or mail from IRCC....the waiting continues!

immigration,refugees and citizenship Canada has received your application for proof of citizenship.the application and documents will be reviewed and we will contact you if additional information is required.if you reside outside of Canada or the U.S you may be contacted by the Canadian embassy high comission or consulate nearest you.
If application is approved,a citizenship certificate will be sent to you.

The above mail came with UCI number and Application Number...So is this AOR or what??

Received the above mail 26th August 2019.

What next should be expected
The application is non routine and is straightforward.

Hi there!

I sent my certificate application on July 1, 2019 and they received it on July 15, 2019. I still haven't received an AOR yet. looks like I have to wait for another 3 weeks then. I'm just wondering why the processing time takes so long. When I applied for my citizenship last year, it only took 6 months but this certification replacement will take 5 months. Hoping for no delays then.

Hi, Domikys lucky you. They accepted your application in Lagos. I had to send mine (adult) through an uncle who stays in Canada. They refused to accept form for adults.

Hope it goes well. Submitted my application since July 2018 and recieved AOR 15th August 2018 roughly 3 weeks apart.

Submitted earlier but picture didnt meet specification and needed to wait like a year to get a registered photographer.

Hi, Domikys lucky you. They accepted your application in Lagos. I had to send mine (adult) through an unclei who stays in Canada. They refused to accept form for adults.

Hope it goes well. Submitted my application since July 2018 and recieved AOR 15th August 2018 roughly 3 weeks apart.

Submitted earlier but picture didnt meet specification and needed to wait like a year to get a registered photographer.

Our application is straight forward wife born in Canada by a Canadian mother and American father..submitted wife birth certificate and copy of data page of her Canadian passport and kids Nigeria birth certificate and Nigeria passport and all immunization and hospital documents...I think mistake from you was submitting your application outside the embassy...I advise you visit the embassy again and maybe try to submit thru the embassy.

I have a friend who submitted thru the embassy last year and he was 38yrs and he received citizenship certificate that same last year.

Keep in mind there are photographers here why wait that long to get it...my wife renewed her Canadian passport 2017 and we got the photograph at Kodak lekki.

Dear Domikys,

Thanks for your response. I am also 38 going 39. As per the photographer, it was a big challenge. I wish i had this informatikn as per the kodak lekki.

The guys at the Lagos office are not friendly. I even went with my father with all documents an adult should have. I was told to get medical records showing my father paid receipt at my delivery, immunization records and info i surely cant get.

I sent mails and the guy at the front desk responded that i must get medical records of my birth to my father.

I wish they assisted me then oo. I started the process February 2017, then sent the documents via my family friend/ Uncle in May 2017 when he returned and got a respinse that my pictures were not valid in June 2017.

We then asked the lagos consulate for recommended photographers which they did not assist with. Luckily in May 2018, a new professional photo studio with specification and an organisation stamp opened around Yaba were the pictures were finally taken.

From what hawk39 says one would likely wait almost 24 months in my situation to get a response.

I wish the lagos consulate was more supportive and provided the assistance they should provide it would be great.
