Some visa offices have been known to specially request the stat declaration of common-law during the application process, but this varies on a case by case basis. For sure though it's not mandatory upfront, it's optional.

Did you submit only joint account contract? and How did it go?

I am also in a similar situation. We opened it more than 1 year ago then never used since it could only for saving and withdrawing only at a branch of the bank. . but yes we still own the account just dont feel like submiting the statement of it since it was never active.

All it has is little money equivalent to 300 CAD lol...
