Processing times??

I applied for citizenship last year in September. And received the confirmation letter along with the test book in about a month. on March 21, 2012 cic website shows they started processing my application. Its been 6 months now and it does not show that the file has been transferred yet, still stuck at "processing". I have noticed from other ppl's timelines that files usually get transferred within a month or two after processing starts. Is this normal lately for applicants? , or should i request notes and see what's going on with my application? Please let me know.

I'm in mississauga btw.

E-cas won't be updated with the date of transfer. Your file might be already at your local office. The only way to find out if it is there, to call the Call Centre.

Hi,

Don't depend on the online update as this is just a way of keeping us away from bothering them. I have not seen any update since Dec 2010 and have been calling them and faxing them requests to send me any updates. It is better if you call them and find the required info. The call center people can't take decision but they are kind and helpful to suggest and provide you the updates. All the best
