Thought I'd post a new thread as a reminder to everyone that the timelines have been updated!
I've been checking everyday almost for the past few months, and they never updated it in the 2nd quarter.. Finally updated now though.. Check your Visa Offices for any changes to the # of months..

Oh no I checked and I wasn't happy at all. When I applied Kingston was 17 months and in the past 15 months it's gone up 10. There is NO way that this process for anyone should take this long.

Bogota was reduced from 15 months to 14 months... however almost everyone in this forum has received it in around six months, give or take!

Wait... now I can't remember if it used to say 13 or 15... in any case, I don't trust those numbers at all! Every time I've applied for a visitor record, study permit, work permit, it takes longer than the processing times posted.

The new processing times only confirm the consensus here that the posted times are of no use as a guide for current applications. (And discouraging for new applicants). Ottawa went from 15 months to 16 months for complete applications after Stage 1 approval. What we are seeing in practice is just the opposite -- an increasing pace of approvals with most getting Stage 2 approval in 4-6 months; some in as little as 2 months.

The posted times are not even close to being accurate for many of the visa offices. My husband's visa office, Santo Domingo, has been listed as being 14 months for about 2 years now. When my husband was waiting for PR it was listed as 14 months and he was finished in 3 months from start to finish, including about 1.5 months of waiting for sponsor approval. Not to mention, I've heard of one or two cases reaching that amount of time. On average, it finishes in about 7-9 months. So really not accurate. I think they over estimate it a lot to keep people of their backs and so when an issue does arise they can just say, "within normal processing times. Adios!"

you are right. i agree with you!

I actually find it amusing that my VO's timeline went up by one month because I work arms-length for a federal government agency and work my ass off, constantly having to demonstrate improvements in performance and outcomes amidst substantial programmatic cuts. These trends would simply be unacceptable for my federal agency.

I dont think these times are accurate ??? 28 months for USA? =cry=????

Rome has not changed, is 13 months again...i am almost finished in 3 month 8)

You do realize that only the difficult cases go to Los Angeles, right? Typical applications go through Ottawa, where the recent trend has been surprisingly fast, some in 5 months or less.

mines headed to Mississauga, ON...not on the list.

Mississauga is not a VO. Are you applying inland?
They have been helping with overflow from some offices, such as London and Sydney, but you can't request Mississauga to my knowledge.
