It changed back to 13 Months

With AOR times increasing I assume it will increase further over the next couple of quarters

It sat at 13 months for a lot of last year and only dropped to 12 in August. 13 is pretty standard and I can't see it going up that much

don't forget that statistically the number of applications have risen significantly every year . Is CIC hiring more VO to match the growth rate efficiently?

Without getting into a debate here...and with my public service hat on....are you suggesting that CIC allocate more tax dollars to providing services to non-Canadians? Immigration is somewhat of a sensitive topic. Allocating resources that could be used for the betterment of the economic or social climate in Canada would probably be a contentious move.

The way I see them increasing FTEs to process applications more efficiently is by increasing the cost recovery fees...meaning, instead of paying about $1,000 right now, you would probably pay an extra 500 or a 1000, so they could get the extra bodies.

However, considering the fact that immigration numbers, as per Ministerial instructions, have held steadily at around 250k, it would be hard to justify additional FTEs to provide services for the same levels we have seen over the years. You need to understand that departments compete for budget dollars and then there is always those voicing concern or opposition to the expansion of government.

If you were to ask me as a public servant, my first response would be...how does this benefit Canada? Value for money? You need to look at it from their perspective. They will also be introducing the EOI which will change a lot of things, not necessarily for CEC, but nevertheless, changes are coming.

Anyways...with my now CEC hopeful immigrant hat on...I hope for all our sakes that they get an extra 100 FTEs to process files quicker. :D

Guys,
the calculation is based on past 80% of cases (without out layers). There was a strike in the past.
We see now AIR times slightly decrease.
At the end of the day, I am ready to wait one more month for an approval.

If I knew they were gonna approve or recommend approval...I wouldnt care about waiting another year if I had to. I just want to know the eligibility portion. And yea, I agree, 1 more month is nothing...even though the wait is killing me. :-X

I agree. I would just like to get the eligibility part done and dealt with. once that is out of the way, the wait would become way less stressful. In fact, it would feel like a smooth sail. It is not really the wait that kills you. It is not knowing.

I know eh...every time I get an email, I feel like I need to change my pants. lol :P This 50/50 bullshit feeling is indeed killing me.

These days, I find myself tensing up whenever my phone goes off for email notification. So far, I have not received anything fruitful or conclusive. I am waiting for a reply from ottawa on my inquiry (status of application - i know they will not tell me anything much. I would be just happy with "your application is in queue for review")

GCMS. GCMS. and GCMS. only way to see the status. The generic, bs reply of "you are in queue" means nothing to me. To me that means "stop bugging us, your file is buried somewhere and we'll get to it when we get to it." TRUE STORY. lol :P

Have you requested gcms recently? I have received mine a few weeks ago. Nothing, but the criminality was in progress. Same as the ones from september. Some request gcms notes everyday to make up for the 30 days interval i hear. I couldnt do that. I would drive myself nuts and would have to change my pants every hour.

If you request more than once, it cancels the previous request

my statement was just a question, there is not a request or similar behind it. However it is simple math. If applications increase and the time lines stay constant then I see only two options. VO are getting more efficient which mean they can process more applications at the same time or they increase man power. Which one is it?
My thoughts were that time lines will increase in the future ...

Ya. I ordered the last set on Oct 17 I believe. So should be in soon. But I dont expect much. I think it will take 1 more round of GCMS to see something.

Agreed! And ordering them every day is ridiculous. Every processed ATIP request is logged. I dont see how this would work.

I'm thinking of e-mailing them with my UCI and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q4VK9_CfOLQ
