Hello members,
This is just for curiosity.

I was looking the details of the members who have already got their PR visa recently in the EE system (NOT including the cases of previous system). Seeing this, most of the members on this forum have received visa within 3 or 4 months of their AOR, whereas CIC states 6 months or less for the same.

I was just curious whether or not the processing time has been decreased nowadays.

If the processing time is 3 or 4 months, then it is really a good news for all..

Seniors, kindly correct me if I am wrong in this.

Please expect 6 months. Anything earlier than that is a bonus. If people think 3-4 months is going to happen then they will be disappointed

Yes I am not expecting it to be that much less, but as I said, I was just curious about this.

Personally, I think, It does not make that much difference whether u get your PR visa within 4 months or 6 months.

What does matter is that u do get one... :)

Some people need the PR asap especially those who hate their current situation and need to be PRs asap. So even a day earlier matters.

For most cases it is happening in 3-4 months.

And for those already in Canada on Work Permits, with permits expiring soon, every single day counts.... from recent trends, looks like CEC is getting processed fastest

From what I have seen, background checks are what takes the maximum time.

Unfortunately background check timeline cannot be predicted. Your nationality of origin does make a difference for background checks based on what I see on the forum. Also the assigned VO office also makes a difference but then again, that could also indirectly be linked to nationality.

CEC applicants seem to take the shortest time since they are already in Canada and their backgrounds checks are easier and faster. For everyone else, I have seen anywhere from 3 months to 14 months! There is a thread specificially for a lot of people who have crossed a year and still not got their PR.

We cannot predict. As the previous poster said, 6 months is their stated timeline. Anytime before that is a bonus. If you crossed 6 months with no PR, you can check with CIC or order GCMS notes.

If you are at the BG In Progress stage and already been requested Schedule A document, does it mean the other checks like R10 are done?
