Processing times in Paris

Hello!!

I am Spanish (34) and my wife is Torontonian. We met 2 and half years ago, and lived together for the last 14 months. We got married in Spain a few weeks ago and we are now considering applying for a "Family class sponsorship" from Europe (the Canadian Embassy for Spain is the one in Paris). The processing time seems to be approximately 10 months: 2 months (step 1) + 8 months (step 2) and that is too long for us!

One user from the forum said that the actual processing times are usually much shorter than the average times stated on the CIC.

Could anyone exchange his/her experiences in order to find out which the actual processing time might be for this kind of visa?

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hi Carlos,

We are also going to Paris VO. We sent our app late October 2011, got the sponsorship approved on January 9th, and on Feb 20th we got asked to do the medical. As you know, we cannot send the medical up-front, unfortunately.
We believe our app is fairly straight forward and are waiting for the visa any time now.

I see now the the sponsorship approval takes less time, roughly 55 days.

I went through Paris as a Swiss Citizen. Sent my application to Mississauga in August 2011 and received my COPR in January 2012. I don't see any issue that could have delayed my application so I think it can't go much faster.

We received your application for permanent residence on November 17, 2011.

We started processing your application on March 23, 2012.

Medical results have been received.

THEY asked me for rprf by mail on 23rd march 2012 AND rprf paid on 26th march and send one copy to mississauga office ans one copy to paris office which they have received on 29th march ...... now can you tell me what is next i mean i should wait for ppr or something else ?

*and one more thing my UCI number is same on my visit vvisa which they have issued me in nov 2011 as i have requested visit visa because we were expecting baby so this UCI is normal to be like in my visit visa*

I am sponsoring my husband who is living in Spain - VO is Paris. Mississauga received our file on February 28. I was approved for sponsorship on June 8. My husband received his acknowledgement email on June 28. We are patiently waiting for the next step !! **well I am not so patient - but "it is what it is" - hehehe ;D

MY APPLICATION WAS RECIVED IN PARIS JUNE 2011 SO ITS OVR A YEAR NOW THERE...I HADE INTERVIEW 17 JANNERY 2012 AND I AM STEEL WETING I REDO MY MEDICALT TEST AND POLICE RECORED 2 MONTHS AGO AND NOTHING YET

Approval & File transfer to Paris VO: July 3, 2012 (from CPP-Ottawa)

Waiting for next step.....no AOR from visa office yet, my wife's email was not mentioned in the forms. So whatever we get would be by mail.
BTW, wife is resident in Portugal though.

I sent an email inquiry last night.....hope to get an answer next week.....will share if I hear anything.

Anyone else know how long it takes for AOR from Paris?

Do you know if Paris VO always updates the status "Medical results received"?
I did my medical exam on 17th December, and still do not see any status regarding this in my ecas.
I have not received any AOR from Paris, either.
