Hi guys,

based on the online tracker at myimmitracker-dot-com it really seems that processing times for AORs submitted in 2017 are getting longer and longer, there also seems to be literally thousands of them nowadays.

The medicals are now taking 60+ days :(

I even found some people online who say that the average processing time for FSW outland applications will go ever 6 months in 2017:

Yes true.

Everyone is impatient and cannot wait for the final positive outcome but the reality according to my observation is that now people might have to wait more than 6 months to get an outcome and especially those who haven't Submitted complete application and further documents will be required from them.

For others, it will surely take 6 months atleast as CIC is reviewing applications in an arranged order 'First come first serve' basis and i have seen people waiting from January, February and March for their status to be changed to medical passed but as their applications are not even being processed till now, it tells that things will take more time now.

Anyhow, everyone must pray for a positive outcome regardless of the time it takes. It is better to get a positive outcome with a delay than a negative outcome earlier.
What do you guys think about this?

IRCC commits to make a decision on file within less than 6 months for FSW applicants.

However, these days many applicants receive their PPR within 4 months approx. But, this is just an estimate. Not all applicants get it within this time. It depends on the stream for which you have applied; inland or outland; and whether or not there is any problem with the application.

You should expect to get your visa in 5 - 6 months. Anything less than this, will be bonus for you.

Do you think this will be also the case in 2017 with all the invitations they have issued ? Didn't they issue more invitations in a single draw in march 2017 as they did in the whole year of 2016 ?

I'm not an expert, but what I've read elsewhere is as per this:

In year of 2016, there was a backlog of many applications which were processed paper-based. At that time, both online & paper-based applications were under process. Naturally, paper-based apps take a longer time than online ones. So, time required to process all those apps was significantly higher.

But, now in 2017, all the paper-based apps have been cleared, and only online apps are under process. So, processing time in online apps would be faster than ever. Even if they send more invites each month, they can process online apps faster.

This would create a significant decrease in processing times. You can see that previously they took almost a year to process an FSW app in 2016. But, in 2017, majority of the FSW apps have been receiving their PPR within 4 months.

Therefore, I believe that in 2017 the processing time would be significantly less as compared to that of 2016.

Thanks for your answer, jpv2212. This information definitely fills me with optimism.

I'm glad for that :)

You can see yesterday's draw also invited ~3800 applicants.
It means, each draw invites more candidates now. Still the applicants who had their AOR in Dec - Jan, are receiving their PPR now.

There is a separate thread for those applicants.
