Processing times for status extension

Hi all,

Any idea roughly how long it takes for temporary resident status extension application processing? I had been checking under Visitor Visa (applied within Canada) which says 7 days. Not sure if thats the correct category for me to check in.

No. You are extending your visitor status, not a visa.

Thanks Jalex. Does that mean I have to check under "Visitor Extension"? And if yes, it says 68 days.

From the online "check your eligibility" form I was told to submit my application 30 days before the end of my status date. I applied on 3rd April. Is there a way to stay in Canada till a decision is made on my extension of status application?

When your current status expires you will get an implied status until a decision is made. CIC will notify you then what to do. Until then, enjoy your stay
