Hi All,

Would like to check on the processing times of PNP applications during Covid. I can give my context and let me know if anyone in this group has a similar story. Would like to hear the experiences and stories.

Here is the (my) timeline

- Received SINP ITA in May 2020 and submitted documents
- SINP approved my application and received the ITA from IRCC in Aug 2020
- Submitted my documents - Received Acknowledgment of Receipt in Aug 2020
- Request for Biometrics - Sep 2020 - Since the VFS offices were closed, submitted the biometrics in Mar 2021
- The current status on my account says, application is in progress

The questions I have

- What is the timeline to process the PNP application during the covid times. It says 6 months on the website and it is more than 9 months. I should also say, it has been two months since I gave the biometrics. Are the applications kept on hold till they receive all the info or will they process the rest of the application while waiting for biometrics?
- Where are the PNP applications processed. In Canada or outside of it. There are lockdowns in many countries now. Will the lockdown affect the processing times further?
- How are the applications processed in general. Will PNPs get processed faster given that the province would have already done the due diligence before they approve it

Your responses are appreciated

Thanks in advance

Best

Hello Gupra

The only question I can answer is the processing time because i did some research and asked some of my friends that already applied and it seems that it's taking close to a year and in some cases more than a year to process EE applications (pnp, fsw)
Another thing is that even if you get your CoPR you will not be able to land in Canada at the moment because of the border control that will probably last for at least 5 extra months (based on what I read).

Anyway I got my ITA about a month ago and submitted my docs under pnp and I would really appreciate if you keep us updated about your timeline so we know what to expect.

All the best!

Thanks Madav for your reply. Congratulations on receiving the ITA.

I read up as well and the website/s still say the processing times as 6 months and hence I wrote on this forum to seek more experiences from others who are in my situation.

I thought Canada is under the air bubble arrangement and people can travel if they have valid documents. Let me know if you hear/read anything different from your sources.

Obviously there are entry restrictions at this point (as on 3rd May 2021) in time for people traveling from most of the South Asian countries.

Wish you best in your application process and would appraise you on my situation [if there is any development :( ]
