Processing time

On Mar 15, general visitor visa applications were submitted online for my mother and sister. They are from Bangladesh and it has been almost 150 days. Online processing time says 98 days. For sister processing "background check" in progress. For Mother final decision in progress. What should we do beside waiting? Please suggest ?

Nothing really you can do. You can raise webform but it will not expedite process. Webforms takes weeks to be responded to (if at all). May get response for mother before sister. Is your sister under 22?

So since they applied separately your mother’s is being processed faster likely because she has immediate family in Canada.

They can’t be. The sister’s may be refused then. You only apply together if it is with your spouse and children under 22.

Together means applied using one online log-in ID, applied on the same day, indicating that they will be traveling together.

They aren’t considered immediate family members of one another. So if sister is refused, she applies with her own log in and application.
