Processing Time

Hello,

My girlfriend applied for a visitor visa from Tunisia on paper in 28 August and they told her the process takes 20 days. Now it's been 25 days and the tracking status still says it's being processed at the Canada visa office in Tunis. We're starting to worry. How long does the whole process usually take including shipping application and passport to and from Canada?

Processing times published by IRCC are only estimates. Actual processing could take much longer depending on the specifics of the application.

Also, applicants' passports are not sent to Canada for processing/visa stamping

Thank you for replying. I was also thinking passports aren't sent to Canada. But I searched before making this post and I found some people talk about their passports being dispatched from Canada so I was confused. Thanks

Those would be in-Canada applicants.... or else applicants living in the US who send their passports to CPC-Ottawa for visa stamping.

If approved, visas are stamped by the local visa office in the country where the applicant resides
