Processing Time

I called an immigration office to help us apply for Skilled Labor cateogry for my girlfriend. We are in Dubai and would be applying through London office.
The guy there told her she would get her visa stamped in 6-12 months. I myself applied in July 2007 and only now that I was asked to submit medicals.

My question: Is it true that the new rules make it possible to obtain the visa in 6-12 months?

Sorry I'm not up to date with the immigration rules.

The new rules will definately reduce the time but accurate time reduction is unpredictable at this stage

Any guys who give you an exact specific processing time is unreliable.
