sir,

i want to solve some confousions in my mind regarding very very long processing time. there are approx. 7 lacs aplications. canada govt. give 2.5 lacs visa every year. according to this the procedure is of 3 years. i think that the problem we all face about the working capability of high commission. i think that they work 4 days in a week.

plz give your opinion also.

Hi

Since Canada takes approximately 240,000 Immigrants (quota)a year and these visas are issued by Oct/Nov each year, they don't require anymore staff. The increase in the number of applications pending is the lowering of the points to 67 2 years ago and the 120,000 applictions affected by Rasolzadeh v. M.C.I. dumped into the system.

CIC will probably raise the point requirement in the future to eliminate a lot of those applications in the backlog, it is the only way to decrease it or put a moritorium on new SK applications like New Zealand did a few years back.

PMM, the reasoning is very logical. However need some clarification

1. If CIC increases the points for qualification, will it effect all pending application or only on new application. Have applied in 2004 and AOR is dated June2004.
2. Can you please let me know what does "put a monotorium" means.

Thanks

1. It affects all applications if the points are increased. Sec 75 regulations.
2. Should have been moratorium, NZ stopped taking skilled worker applications until their backlog was cleared.

PMM do u really think it would be legally feasable to increase points with retrospective effect?( think thats what u mean) after all the legal proceedings they have gone thru and have lost in the past?

An article appeared in the papers today..Clearely the ROLF to be halved, and nothing with the backlog.

Yes, because CIC was a little smarter this time and spelled it out the regulations.

PMM-Yeah i guess so , hope they stick to some realsitic figure though like say 70-75 range, taking it up to 80 is useless coz most would not qualify unless they were bilingual/have blood relative or approved job offer...
