Processing time-- Ottawa (CPP-O)-- application of re-entry visa

Hi guys
I applied for a visa (student) more than 5 weeks ago, they received it on July 5th, unfortunately I'm still waiting. I have a flight on the 20th, will have to cancel by Friday if noting comes in :'( . Two of my friends applied with me at the same time and both received theirs last week.

Is anyone able to check their status online using Client ID Number? I was able to use it on the phone but not on their website. For some reason I keep getting "We were not able to identify you using the information you provided"

i dont think you can check out the statues of ur application through out their online system. you might have to e-mail them and hopfully they will answer within the next day.

Update: I sent in July 16/17 and my passport has been mailed back today as I am tracking it daily for the return envelope. I should get it tomorrow or day after.

Almost 1 month.

Same here, I sent my application on the 17th/July and yesterday they said its finalized and out for delivery . The only problem is they did not use the prepaid return envelope for some reason. So I have to stick with the bad Canad Post service .

I used UPS carrier , their return envelope is too big for just a passport. I hope it arrives before Friday

Hi Erame,

I'm in the same boat as you. My TRV (worker) application was received on July 9th by CPP-O. I havent heard back from them. Hopefully both our passports arrive by the end of this week. Lets be patient! Kindly post here once you've received your passport.

Does somebody know about possible delay?

I have applied thorugh the xpresspost courier. According to the response here, it appears to be taking 40 days for each application to be processed. certainly, i will as soon as i get my passport! Do the same!

Got my passport today. Application sent July 17, 2012

Given the date on the stamped-visa, to me it looks it was processed 2 days back!

The same thing is happening to me (Out for delivery Since Aug 14). I called Canada Post today and they said it was delivered to the Business Mail Room, however they have opened a incident case for the package. I have also sent an email to CPP-O regarding this. I hope they have received it. *Fingers Crossed*

Hey guys! Just a warning. Be careful when sending your passport with Canada Post. They lost my passport and I got absolutely no compensation for it, I had to miss a family member's funeral as a result. One Canadapost employee pulled me aside and told me that they have no obligation to be careful with packages and so they lose stuff all the time and doesn't feel bad about it. He also said he has seen employees open packages out of curiousity and then throw away the contents because it wasn't sealable anymore. I only send my passport using UPS from now on.

Where did you send your application? the PO box or 365 Laurier Ave? anyone?

I just hope I didn't send it to the wrong place.
